SCANdal!
by Rack/ABS!
The debate is over, everyone agreed
that using scanners is bad, and the
scene should ban the scanning
graphicians. It is far more hard, and
takes more creativity to make a
picture without model or scanning.
Everyone felt so fucking proud when
they found out that CAT/Essence's
picture on the Party 2. was scanned
(what is a bullshit say the creators).
You can read in every second scroll
that one graphician found out that the
other was scanning.
So, my friends, let's get an end to
all this shit.
. You can't even recognize a scanned
and corrected picture, and that's a
fact.
This is very sad, but very true. It
means that all that shitty gossip
mania about graphicians doesn't mean a
fuck, cause there can be anyone who
uses a scanner and you don't even know
about it, and you vote for him. I
imagine that some of you think they
are very smart and can smell a scan
from miles, but that's a lie.
It is bedtime, so let me tell you a
lullaby. Once upon a time, there was
a guy who used to spend hours and
hours pixelling a picture, he really
sweat his blood out. He became very
famous and popular, he had a unique
style that simply couldn't be a scan.
Now this guy found a scanned picture,
which looked really crap. He decided
to try a new method and he corrected
the mistakes of the scanner, added
some background, and took the picture
to the party. Everyone adored the
picture, graphicians looked at it with
zoomlenses, still the guy went home
with his prize, and noone dared him
that he has scanned the picture. I'm
in an overhelmingly honest mood, so I
can tell you that the guy is me, Rack
of Absolute!, and as a graphician I
can tell that sadly enough noone will
ever recognize a scanned picture if it
is corrected nicely. But, don't think
that it is so easy, cause...
. Re-pixelling a scan is simply as
hard as making a new picture!
@IPlogofejC
Bloody. You have just dreamed that
how cool would you be with a scanner,
so wake up, that's not the way it is.
To make a scan unrecognizeable, you
have to work for long days or weeks,
believe me, not one pixel will remain
the same! With a scanner you might
get a right figure, but not much more.
If you don't correct it, it will look
utterly crap. You have to remake the
colors, make the anti-alias and
generally redraw the whole shit, but
you have an outline.
So, I will not use scanners forever,
no, not at all. It is a bloody work,
but if you have problems with making
an outline it helps. A lot of times
it is easier to draw on your own. To
conclude my article: you can hardly,
nearly never decide if a picture is
scanned, but it makes no difference at
all. You still need a big talent to
make it look nice, and graphicians
will still make their own pictures
mainly.
